Self-power automaker Cruise, backed by Frequent Motors Co (GM.N), on Thursday said it raised $2.75 billion in its most up-to-date funding round with extra funding from Walmart Inc (WMT.N) and others, taking the startup’s valuation over $30 billion.

The announcement comes a week after survey TuSimple printed plans for an preliminary public offering (IPO), at a time when self-power technology is but to be commercialised.
